Aperture in Class

My Learnings: 

The words in the newspaper, and chocolate are blurred, however, the pink air pod case is in focus. Does aperture have a role in it? 

As I increased the aperture towards 27+, the words were way clearer all the objects were in focus. 

There was also a concept of depth of field which was taught in class, but I didn't understand it too well.
